Islamabad- 446 seminaries have been built on Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) land illegally, it has been learnt reliably.

All the land is worth of Rs 1.6 billion. Most of the seminaries are built on green belts, in which around 22 thousand students are getting religious education.

None of it is registered in CDA; they are being supported by people in the name of religious funding (Sadka). Madrassas’ in posh areas are creating security problems. CDA is not taking any steps to stop construction of more seminaries.

Federal government directed CDA to take action against illegal constructed seminaries, but CDA responded that nothing can be done about it. However, CDA assured federal government that no other seminary will be built on its territory.
