ISLAMABAD (SANA NEWS) - Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani differed greatly with President Asif Ali Zardari over imposition of Governor's Rule in the Punjab and the Prime Minister kept opposing the unpopular decision till the last moment. It was in view of the expected revision of the Governor Rule decision that the Prime Minister had got the appointment order of Kamran Lashari as Chief Secretary Punjab stalled. However, the Aiwan-e-Sadr had upper hand regarding the decision. The appointment of Najib Malik as Chief Secretary Punjab was also desired by the Governor's House and PPP Punjab, while both the Punjab Chief Secretary Javed Mahmood and IG Shaukat Javed had expressed their inability to discharge their duties. As per reliable sources, the consultative meeting held at Aiwan-e-Sadr to deliberate the reservations of the Prime Minister about the Governor's Rule in Punjab also prolonged considerably. The Premier opposed the idea of imposition of Governor's Rule at every step and he had asked to stop the issuance of notification of Kamran Lashari's appointment as Chief Secretary, hoping that he would be able to keep the President from making the said decision. The Prime Minister is fairly unhappy over the imposition of Governor's Rule in his native province, the sources said. Najib Malik's appointment as Punjab Chief Secretary has been made on the will of the Governor's House and the Punjab PPP and a plan for high-level transfers had been chalked out a month before at the Governor's House. Even the favourite police and administrative officers to be appointed on Division and District level had also been planned out. The appointments and transfers of high-level officers like CS and IG have also been ordered in view of crushing the expected reaction of PML(N) workers and lawyers Long March, the sources opined.
