KARACHI - The PML-N activists took out a rally and staged protest demonstration and sit-in outside the Karachi Press Club on Wednesday against the disqualification of Sharif brothers by the Supreme Court. Reports also said that enraged PML-N activists staged protest demonstrations across the Sindh. Led by central leader PML-N Sardar Abdur Rahim, the enraged party activists including women were carrying party flags and portraits of Mian Nawaz Sharif and placards inscribed with anti-government slogans and against President Asif Ali Zardari. They raised slogans against the President and "Musharraf ka Jo Yar Hay Ghaddar Hay Ghaddar Hay" (whosoever is the friend of Musharraf is a traitor) and "Killer of Benazir Bhutto, 10 per cent Zardari." Addressing the demonstrators, Rahim termed the decision of Supreme Court as the black chapter in the history of Pakistan and a big blow to the Charter of Democracy (CoD). He said that the judgement of the court had proved the claim of Sharif brothers about biased attitude of incumbent judiciary, which was toeing the lines of rulers. He termed the present government as the continuation of the regime of former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf. The government was bent upon to push the country at the threshold of chaos. He said that Musharraf was the murderer of democracy and should be tried under Article 6 of the constitution, adding that people of Pakistan will not tolerate the rulers who were trying to save Musharraf from punishment. Muslim League Lawyers Forum boycotted the court proceedings at the City and Malir Court and staged protest demonstration at MA Jinnah Road against the disqualification of Sharif brothers. Karachi Bar Council and other lawyers' bodies also boycotted the court proceedings to express solidarity with the PML-N. Reports reaching here from Hyderabad said that PML-N activists took out a rally and staged demonstration outside the Hyderabad Press Club against the disqualification of Sharif brothers. Reports said that the enraged party activists took to the streets, blocked the road and raised slogans against the rulers. Reports pouring in from Kotri, Dadu, Badin, Naushehro Feroze, Khairpur, Sukkur and other adjoining areas of interior Sindh suggest that activists of PML-N and Muslim Students Federation (MSF) took out rallies and staged demonstrations against the Supreme Court verdict. Reports said that in Tandu Allahyar district, Azad Magsi Ittehad joined hands with the activists of PML-N and staged demonstration.
