ISLAMABAD Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the Government is fully alive to the countrys defence and security needs and in this context is committed to modernise the equipment for impregnable defence. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the Pakistan Air Force would strive to achieve the professional excellence to protect the air frontiers of Pakistan. The PM was talking to Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Chief of Air Staff, who called on him at his Chamber at the Parliament House on Friday. During his meeting, the Chief of Air Staff informed the Prime Minister that out of the 18 contracted F-16 aircrafts from USA, four aircraft would reach Pakistan today (Saturday). The Chief of Staff, US Air Force would be arriving to participate in the handing over ceremony. These F-16, said the Chief of Air Staff, would give precision night attack capability to Pakistan Air Force. The present fleet of F-16s has been successfully used against the militants in different operations, he further added.
