A strong earthquake struck off Indonesia's Java island on Saturday but there were no immediate reports of damage and no tsunami warning was issued, seismologists said. The quake struck at 4:50 pm (1450 PST), 118 kilometers (73 miles) south west of Tasikmalaya, West Java, at a depth of 34 kilometers, Indonesia's geophysics and meteorological agency said. The Indonesian agency measured the quake as magnitude 6.3, but the US Geological Survey (USGS) measured it at 5.8.
