Rawalpindi - Regional Police Officer (RPO) Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja held an Orderal Room and reinstated several cops, including a sub inspector, who were either suspended or dismissed from service on different charges ranging from corruption to launching faulty investigation into cases.

“However, the punishments of some other cops were upheld by the top police boss,” informed RPO Office spokesman here on Thursday. “All the police officers, including SI and ASI and constables were dismissed or suspended from service by City Police Officer or District Police Officers of Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal on different charges,” he said.

According to him, all the police officials filed appeals with RPO to review their departmental punishments on which RPO held an Orderal Room to hear the appeals.

After reviewing the appeals of all the police officials, RPO Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja reinstated a Sub Inspector of Rawalpindi district Aftab Ahmed temporarily and ordered inquiry against him. Similarly, a constable Yasir was reinstated while finding his appeal satisfactory, he added.

“The appeal of a constable Noor Shehzad, who remained absent from duty owing to illness, was rejected by RPO,” he said, adding another constable Asad Abbas was retired forcibly from police service. RPO Wisal Raja also reinstated Masood ur Rehman who earlier demoted by DPO Attock to the rank of ASI. Similarly, four other constables Farhat Abbas, Kashif Latif and Ishtiaq of Attock and Chakwal were reinstated by the RPO, the spokesman said.
