ISLAMABAD - Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has forgone his recruitment powers in Grade 16 and above in the National Assembly Secretariat. The decision to this effect has been communicated to Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), authorizing it to conduct future recruitment for the National Assembly Secretariat.

Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq took this decision for ensuring transparency and merit in the recruitment process. The Speaker said that it is his conscious decision to abdicate his powers to ensure merit and transparency, according to the press release issued from National Assembly secretariat.

He said that this decision will have far reaching effect on the working and performance of the National Assembly Secretariat as only educated and competent human resource would be inducted through a rigorous competitive process on merit.

It may be pointed out that the Speaker has been vested with the powers to make recruitments in grade 16 and above under National Assembly Secretariat (Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules 1973.
