ISLAMABAD: The police rescued a child abducted for ransom and arrested two culprits, during a crackdown today.

Seven-year-old Abu Baqar was kidnapped from Shamas Colony in the federal capital and the abductors stated to be close relatives of the child, had demanded Rs20 million as ransom for his release.

The police tracked the kidnappers through telephone call and arrested two abductors besides rescuing the kidnapped child.

The child was handed over to his family while the police after registering a case against the abductors have started the investigation and more arrests were expected.
