LAHORE: Plains of the country including Lahore remained in the grip of heat wave yesterday with frequent electricity outages adding to the woes of heat stricken people.

Experts have forecast gradual increase in the intensity of heatwave due to lack of significant rains during the current week. Shaheed Benazirabad remained the hottest place in the country where mercury rose as high as 48 degree Celsius.

Maximum temperature in Dadu, Padidan, Sukkur, Moenjodaro and Turbat was recorded 46C, Larkana, Jacobabad and Rohri 45C.

Maximum and minimum temperature in Lahore was recorded 38C and 22C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 28 per cent.
