KARACHI (PPI) - President Asif Ali Zardari, also Co-Chairperson of the PPP, has formed a committee to decide the 'fate of aspirants willing to rejoin the party, as a large number of former leaders and ticket holders are willing to be part of the party again, PPI learnt on Sunday. The committee, which is working to decide about the persons eligible to rejoin the PPP, comprises Federal Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Federal Minister for Labour and Manpower Syed Khursheed Shah, Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture Nazar Mohammad Gondal, Minister of State for Information Samsam Ali Bukhari, Federal Minister Manzoor Ahmed Watoo and Senator Sardar Ali. When contacted, Khursheed Shah told PPI that there were a large number of people who had left the PPP and now willing to join it again. There is a long list of party leaders and ticket holders from the Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other parts of the country, who are in contact with me and our other colleagues. He said the move by Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry and others to be part of the PPP was an outcome of the committee. We are taking decisions about whether the aspirants should join or not the party again in the light of party principles. Replying to a question, he said committing a mistake was not a big thing but repeating it was a point that could matter. So we are taking the cases one by one and after the close scrutiny we are giving suggestions to President Asif Ali Zardari who is the final authority. When asked who has so far applied to rejoin the party, Khursheed did not respond and said it was very secret information and they did not want to disclose their names.
