LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the sentiments of love and affection of Turk people with Pakistan cannot be described in words and their hearts beat with their Pakistani brethren. The help and assistance extended by Turkey for the relief and rehabilitation of the victims of the recent flood in Pakistan was a practical roof of this fact, says a handout issued here. This was stated by him during his visit to the central office of the media group comprising six leading channels of Turkey in Istanbul on Sunday. Chairman of Media Group Hadayat Kasaca and other members were also present on the occasion. The CM said that the Turk businessmen had written a new history of love and brotherhood by celebrating Eid with the flood affectees of Pakistan and this spirit can only show by a brother to his brother. He said that Turk brethren were now engaged in construction of house for the calamity-stricken people in Punjab and different areas of Pakistan. Shahbaz said that he was the Khadim-e-Aala of people of Punjab but due to love of Turk people with Pakistanis he feels proud to be described as their Khadim as well. He said that Turk schools were playing an important role in the improvement of education sector in Punjab. He proposed that electronic media group of Turkey in collaboration with Pakistan Television should prepare a documentary for the promotion of investment in agriculture, livestock and other sectors in Turkey and Pakistan. Kasaca said that turkey and Pakistan had deep-rooted fraternal, cultural and historical relations which will further strengthen with the passage of time. Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif visited the office of Turk welfare organization, Kimseyokmu, which helped for rehabilitation of flood affectees and constructed 500 houses for them. The Chief Minister met the Chairman of the organization, Mr Mehmet, Mr Zeki and Mr Ozkara were also present on the occasion. While talking to the members of the welfare organization, Punjab chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the way Turk brethren helped the flood affectees, no amount of words is enough to thank Turk brethren in the noble cause of relief and assistance to the flood affectees. He said that the Turk welfare organization has expressed its love for Pakistanis through the construction of 500 houses for the flood victims. Referring to measures taken by Punjab government for the rehabilitation of the calamity-stricken people, the Chief Minister said that model villages equipped with basic facilities are being constructed for the flood affectees. He said that vocational trainin institutes are also being set up in the model villages. Chairman of the welfare organization, Mr Mehmet gave a detailed briefing regarding the efforts for rehabilitation and construction of 500 houses for flood affectees.
