ISLAMABAD (APP) - Japan will provide $7m aid to Pakistan as World Food Programme (WFP) soon. This was stated by the Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, Chihiro Astrumi here Thursday while talking to Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture, Nazar Muhammad Gondal. Minister said that Pakistan and Japan has long-lasting relations and Pakistan values its high ties with Japan. He said that there is a need to increase economic and trade cooperation especially in agriculture sector of the country to further strengthen bilateral socio-economic relations. The Minister said that Pakistan wants easy access for its agricultural products to Japan. Chihiro Astrumi said that he will do his utmost to strengthen already existing good bilateral ties between both countries. Nazar Muhammad Gondal while talking to High Commissioner of Canada, Randolph Mank who also called on him here said that bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Canada needs to be increased and there is a tremendous potential of cooperation in agriculture which needs to be explored. The Minister said that Canada and Pakistan enjoy cordial relations and Pakistan wants to further cement these relations especially in agriculture sector. He said that Canada can help Pakistan in building storage capacity of agricultural products and in this way we can give farmers their due share through stable prices. Nazar Gondal said that there needs of increasing cooperation in education, cultural and trade sectors to promote trade and business links between both countries.
