Islamabad - The government has launched a crackdown against agents and tout mafia outside the passport offices across the country.

A statement issued by the ministry of interior said that 110 agents were arrested on Friday as a result of the crackdown and cases were registered against the accused. The crackdown has been launched on the directions of Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan.

The interior minister said action should be taken against the officials of passport offices who were colluding with the agent mafia and touts. He also instructed the director general passports to devise a coordinated strategy to uproot the menace by continuing the operation against touts and agent mafia.
