Rawalpindi - The residents of Bhatta, a suburb of Gujar Khan, have demanded the government to provide natural gas facility to their area. They said that they have approached the officials of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines (SNGPL) and the area MNA for the purpose but no action has been taken so far from any side. They while talking to The Nation yesterday said that they have been facing numerous problems because of unavailability of gas. They said the government has approved gas facility for the area while SNGPL laid down pipelines from Mandra to Ghausia Chowk for the purpose. However, the work on the project was stopped due to unknown reasons. The authorities should solve our longstanding problem, they demanded.

They said that they were planning to stage a protest demonstration against the apathy of the government and the SNGPL. They demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqab Abbasi to pay heed to their issue.
