LAHORE: Police yesterday stopped convoy of President Mamnoon Hussain in Lahore’s cantonment and detained two suspected drivers from the large convoy. Lahore Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Amin Wains said the suspects were in police custody and being questioned “for slow driving” at a police facility. The president spent a busy day in Lahore yesterday and attended events in different parts of the metropolis amid tight security. Police have not shared any further details about the suspects. Normally, the VVIP motorcades travel in high-speed because general traffic is halted during their movement. Both the drivers, yet to be named, were driving slower than the required limit, a police source said. They were stopped at a crossing in the cantonment locality and shifted to somewhere for questioning.–Staff Reporter
