QUETTA -  Two people were gunned down, including a Levies personnel in two separate incidents in Turbat and Khuzdar towns, on Friday. In the first incident, unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate firing, killing one person identified as Babu Abdul Salam and escaped after the incident.

Police getting information rushed to the site and shifted the body to hospital for medico-legal formalities.

In the second incident, unknown assailants shot dead a person with automatic weapons in Khuzdar and fled from the scene.  The deceased was identified as Levies personnel Munir Ahmed

However, motive behind the murders in both incidents could not be ascertained.

Cases of both incidents have been registered and further investigations were underway.

Meanwhile, A complete shutter-down strike was observed in various Baloch dominated districts of Balochistan against extra-judicial arrest of political workers and recovery of bodies.

The strike call was given by Baloch National Front (BNF), an alliance of different hardliner nationalist parties to protest against the extra-judicial arrest of political workers especially arrest of BNF’s senior leader Mir Sadiq Jamaldini.

Mir Sadiq Jamaldini was picked up by armed men from main bazaar of district Nushki and BNF accused government functionaries behind his abduction.

All markets, shops and business centres remained closed throughout the day in Turbat, Tump, Mand, Panjgour, Nushki, Kalat, Mastung and other towns of the province.

Local administration had taken strict security measures to avoid any untoward incident. However, no unpleasant incident was reported during the strike.
