Boca Junior bound, Carlos Tevez scored the winning spot kick as Argentina won 5-4 on penalties against Colombia to book a place in the Semi Final of the Copa America . Argentina started as favourites in the match and lived upto the expectations as they dominated throughout but found Arsenal keeper David Ospina in the way almost every time.

The Colombian keeper seemed to be in very fine form as he denied Sergio Aguero, Lionel Messi and Nicolas Otamendi. Argentina embarked on wave after wave of attacks but found themselves up against a determined Colombian side which did not allow the ball to bulge in the back of the net. Ospina saved 6 shots including a double save denying Sergio Aguero and backtracking to keep out Messi’s goal bound header. He also kept out Otamendi’s volley late on to keep his team’s hopes alive.

Ospina’s heroics and a stubborn Colombian defense ensured that Argentina didn’t score. Colombia’s attack itself was off colour so the score remained 0-0 after full time. With no extra time in the Copa America quarter or semi finals, the match went to a Penalty shootout. Colombia’s Jeison Murillo missed a crucial penalty before Tevez stepped up to slot the winning penalty. Argentina will now face either Brazil or Paraguay in Tuesday’s semi final at Estadio Municipal Alcaldesa Ester Roa Rebolledo, Concepcion.
