LAHORE - Speakers at a debate held at Hameed Nizami Hall under the aegis of TheNation, Nawa-i-Waqt and Waqt News demanded convening of Islamic Summit at Madina to chalk out an agreed strategy to seek extradition of US Pastor, Terry Jones to bring him to justice for desecration of the Holy Quran. Head of Jamat-ud-Daawa, Moulana Ameer Hamza, Convenor Tehreek-e-Hurmat-e-Rasool, Mufti Dr Ashraf Asif Jalali, Moulana Muhammad Zubair Albazi and Moulana Moosa Albazi took part in the discussion while Khawaja Farrukh Saeed conducted the proceedings. They condemned the US for not stopping the Pastor from carrying out the sacrilegious act and stressed upon Muslim countries to expel American ambassadors from their respective countries as a protest. They also urged Suadi Arabia to convene an Islamic Summit to chalk out an agreed strategy, and if the KSA did not do so President Asif Ali Zardari must do the needful. They were of the view that it was not the individual act of the Pastor as the entire America was at his back. They said that US government should have stopped him from doing so. If the US wanted to maintain diplomatic relations with Muslim countries it should punish the Pastor, they asked America. . Moulana Amir Hamza lamented that US did not take any action against the obnoxious Pastor who had announced to carry out his abhorrent plan much earlier before actually doing it on March20. Recalling an earlier statement of former US President Bush made immediately after the 9/11 regarding launching of crusade against Islam, he disagreed with the supposition that it was an individual act of a few Pastors. In his view, entire America and Europe was behind the conspiracy. He said sanctity of Quran had been challenged and it was now incumbent on all Muslim rulers to gather at Madina to chalk out a country strategy to seek Pastors extradition from the US. If the US can take Aimal Kansi and Raymond Davis back, why we cannot ask for Pastors extradition, he questioned. He suggested that Muslim world could exercise the option of economic and political boycott of the US if it did not handover the Pastor to the Muslims. Hamza announced convening of All Parties Conference encompassing religious and political parties in the coming days to deliberate on the issue of protecting the sanctity of Holy Quran. He said that a precise date in this regard will be announced latter. Speaking on the occasion, Mufti Dr Muhammad Ashraf said that any person who committed sacrilege of Quran was liable to death according to Shariah law. He said that Saudia Arabia should take the initiative of expelling US ambassador from the country, and Pakistan should follow the suit being an Islamic State. Moulana Zubair Albazi said that those committing blasphemy of Holy Quran will land in hell on the Day of Judgment He said tongues of blasphemers must be cut down to stop them from speaking against Holy Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
