LAHORE Quetta defeated Peshawar by seven wickets in the first semi-final of the Pepsi PCB U-16 Cricket Stars Tournament played at the Gaddafi Stadium here Tuesday. The second semi-final will be played at the Gaddafi stadium between Karachi U-16 and Abbottabad U-16. The first phase of Pepsi PCB Cricket Stars came to an end earlier this month. Trials for U-16 boys were held in 47 cities where more than 30,000 boys participated. The PCB Cricket Stars Tournament commenced simultaneously in Abbottbad, Islamabad and Karachi. As many as 11 regional and one FATA team participated in the tournament. Based on the performance of the players, the final 25 boys will be selected and they will receive advanced cricket coaching at the National Cricket Academy under elite NCA coaches.
