LAHORE - Additional District and Sessions Judge Mehar Muhammad Yousuf on Tuesday directed SHO Kahna to submit a report on a petition seeking registration of a case against renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for allegedly singing a blasphemous song in an Indian movie 'Aaj Kal. The court has given this direction on the petition of Qaria Hafiza Lailatul Kubra seeking registration of a case against the singer under PPC sections 295-A and 295-C. She contended in her petition, She is a Muslim by heart and believes in the oneness of Allah and no one joins and shares Allahs absolute powers. But Rahat Fateh Ali Khan who is a Pakistani Muslim singer, while singing a song in an Indian movie 'Aaj Kul, used deprecating words against the sacredness of Allah, she added. She claimed that this song has not only hurt the sentiments of her but also millions of other Muslims. She pointed out that she had filed an application at Kahna police station to register a case against Rahat Fateh Ali Khan but the concerned SHO refused to carry out legal action. She prayed before the court to direct SHO Kahna for registering a case against the singer. The court directed the SHO concerned to appear before the court on November 2 along with a report over the issue.
