The government has broken the back of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, stated Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Wednesday. Malik was speaking to the media after a federal cabinet meeting at the Governor House in Lahore. He said that the attacks on shrines were an attempt to create sectarian unrest, stating that previously knives and guns were used, and now bombs were being used. The interior minister appealed for patience and called for unity, and said that the government is trying to catch the culprits.
