KARACHI - Crime Investigation Department (CID) of the Sindh Police, on Saturday, claimed to have arrested three militants of banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) and recovered a huge cache of weapons from them. According to official sources, a team, headed by SSP Muhammad Fayyaz Khan, on a tip-off conducted a raid near Vita roundabout, Korangi Industrial Area, and arrested three LeJ operatives - Danish, Tariq and Shah. Five kilograms of explosive material, 6 mortar rounds, 15 detonators, 9 devices, 2 electric wire sets, 3 TT pistols, several rounds and a snatched car were also recovered from their possession. They said the arrested militants were involved in several heinous crimes, including targeted killings, kidnapping for ransom and robberies. They said the accused, who got training in Waziristan, used to target prominent political and religious figures. They said the three operatives, during initial investigations, confessed to have committed several crimes, including robberies, targeted killings and kidnapping in Karachi. Further investigations are in progress.
