OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Dengue fever continued to haunt the masses across the province especially in the City with the government functionaries miserably failing to eradicate the menace. Though insecticide spray and fumigation has already been completed in major cities including Lahore, the exercise has failed to yield desired results as more and more suspects are continuously pouring in public sector and private healthcare centres for diagnosis and treatment. In Lahore, the Epidemic Control Wing of the City District Government has even carried out additional town-wise intensified fumigation to eliminate mosquitoes, but the number of patients are increasing with every passing day. On Saturday, 122 dengue fever cases were reported from across the province and out of these 118 were from Lahore alone. Two dengue fever patients were reported from Multan and one each from Gujranwala and Rahim Yar Khan. So far over 1350 persons have been tested positive for Dengue fever from across the province and over 90 per cent of these are from the City.
