ISLAMABAD - A team of Federal Investigation agency (FIA) has questioned Malik Mumtaz Qadri, the alleged killer of former slain governor Punjab Salman Taseer, in Adyala Jail to trace any links, if any, of abductors of Shahabaz Taseer with him, TheNation learnt reliably on Saturday. Some unknown persons Friday morning had kidnapped Shahbaz Taseer, the eldest son of late governor Punjab Salman Taseer, at gunpoint while he was on his way to office in Lahore Gulberg area. FIA Headquarters on Saturday morning had sent a request to the Adyala Jail authorities for arranging a meeting of Malik Mumtaz with its investigation team and the investigators grilled him at afternoon, sources aware of the developments informed this scribe. The jail authorities arranged the meeting of FIA investigators with Qadri soon after the hearing of Salman Taseers murder case on Saturday. FIA investigators thoroughly went through the visitors register of the jail to see the complete details of the people who visited Qadri during the last months, an official said. They are also probing the case from this angel viewing that some militant groups having links with Qadri might have abducted Shahabaz Taseer to pressurise his family for the release of Qadri, an FIA official informed.
