ISLAMABAD - The Inspector General Police, Syed Kaleem Imam, has said that the welfare projects for police personnel would be completed on priority basis aimed to improve their performance. Briefing the police personnel in the National Library on Monday, IG said three thousand residential flats would be constructed in police lines headquarters and one hundred personnel would be selected through draw for Haj to boost up the moral of police force. The briefing was also attended by DIG operation Binyamin, SSP operation Tahir Alam Khan, SP City Sajid Kiyani, SP Rural Tahir Ayub, SP Investigation Saqib Sultan all DSsP, SHOs and Muharrirs apart from the police contingents deployed at Nakas. He said that the health insurance of personnel would also be ensured. He directed the police personnel to behave politely with the public during checking at Nakas. While admiring the performance of police personnel deployed at Nakas, the IG said to enhance the performance of police, welfare projects are being initiated for them. He directed the participants to well behave with the public and to avoid insulting the citizens through brawls during checking of vehicles at nakas. The IG said that for better performance of staff, 8 hours shift system was being introduced. He informed that residential plots would also be arranged in PHA Housing Colony for police staffers. He described that the Inspector General of Police cash reward would also be given to those police personnel who show better performance. On the occasion cash reward of Rs 30,000 was also awarded to the police officers. The IGP also directed them to avoid from applying unfair means as their salaries have already been enhanced. He directed them to perform their duties with dedication, devotion and honesty.
