KARACHI - A worker of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) among three were gunned down in a target killing incident here on Monday at Baldia Town. According to details, Farooq alias Maddah, a prominent activist of MQM Baldia Sector, was sitting at a shop located in Sector D-3, Baldia Town when four armed culprits on two motorbikes came and targeted Maddah. Sources said that during an exchange of fire, two attackers and Maddah sustained injuries who were taken to hospital where doctors pronounced their deaths. They said that the attackers were identified as Shahid Mehboob and Ashok Kumar. SHO Baldia Zahid Soomro while confirmed Kumar as an attacker and Mehboob as sympathiser and a friend of Maddah. On the contrary, DSP Ghulam Fareed said that some four assailants on two motorbikes came and opened fire on the MQM men sitting at Sector D-3, Baldia Town in the limits of Saeedabad police station. In retaliation, the MQM workers also opened fire at them but the assailants managed to flee and an MQM worker and two of his party supporters sustained bullet wounds and were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
