ISLAMABAD Quaid-e-Tehreek-e-Hazara Sardar Haider Zaman has one again demanded of the federal government to wake up of its slumber and pay due heed to the masses of Hazara for the formation of Hazara province. He was addressing a press conference here on Tuesday organised by Tehreek-e-Hazaras Capital chapter. Flanked by senior Tehreek leaders including Gohar Ayub Khan, Sardar Yousuf, Mushtaq Ghani, Hafiz Sajjad Qamar, Abdul Razzaq Abbasi and Haider Zaman lambasted the apathy of the rulers towards the Hazara cause. Years ago, we voted against Britons and became a part of Pakistan through a historical referendum but nothing has changed yet, the only difference is that 'black Britons have replaced white Britons, he said referring to the submissive disposition of the ruling elites to follow Western dictation. This government is of the rulers, from the rulers, by the rulers, Zaman said. The purpose of arranging a media briefing here is to convey our message to our 'royal rulers who are blindfolded in the corridors of power. We urge them to grow out of their criminal apathy and pay due heed to 100 million people of Hazara, he added. Further deploring the ruling elites, the Quaid-e-Tehreek said, Leaders of any great nation are fatherly figures to the masses but look at our so-called public representatives, they lead luxurious lives, they make billions of illegal money and are completely intoxicated in power. Citing the recent Caravan-e-Hazara that earned huge public support and reflected Tehreek-e-Hazaras ever-growing popularity among the people of Hazara, Sardar Haider Zaman said that he failed to understand the motives behind the criminal silence of government towards Hazara issue when masses had sacrificed their lives for the cause. We have resources, we have will, and we have made sacrifices, whats the logic of keeping us away from our legitimate demand? Hazarawals would be relieved manifolds if Hazara province is formed, he added. Zaman criticised the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for replacing the pictures of Quaid-e-Azam with Asfandyar Wali at numerous government offices. Later, talking to TheNation, Gohar Ayub Khan said that 12,000 megawatts could be immediately tapped from Hazara, if the government sho-wed interest. He said that Hazara region has natural resources in abundance and Hazara province would be quite capable of managing its affairs through its own means. If India can create smaller provinces, why cant we? The government should create smaller provinces where required to address the grievances of masses and to pay due heed to their plight, he added. Gohar warned that long march would be the next step to be taken by Tehreek-e-Hazara if its just demand is not met. On April 12, we sacrificed thirteen precious lives, we wont hesitate to offer more sacrifices if the demand of 100 million people of Hazara is not paid due heed.
