LAHORE (PR) - A 2-day 4th Flour Milling Conference was held at Park Plaza Hotel Gulberg. The conference was arranged by the Flour Milling News Pakistan in which stakeholders from across the country participated. Food experts also read their articles and presented papers for the improvement of the sector. Besides these presentations, the stakeholders also requested the government to set-up a Food Grain Board so that important decisions for the grain and other foods are made on time. Free movement of grain may also be allowed without any condition for Sindh a d Balochistan. It was also demanded that the trade problems be solved. The Flour Milling Association also desired that 1pc turnover tax on electricity and GST be withdrawn. Storage may also be up graded and new silos be established at 10 years lease programme. Iftikhar Ali Malik, Vice President, SAARC CCI who was the Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of Dr. Bilal Aslam Sufi and the Flour Milling Association and assured them that FPCCI will support their efforts.
