SIALKOT - There was a low level flood in River Chenab here on Tuesday. According to the Sialkot Irrigation Department, the flow of water was 149,670 cusec at Head Marala in River Chenab near Sialkot. They said that water level was continuously soaring up in Chenab due to the ongoing fresh spell of heavy rains in Sialkot. After the two-year long water scarcity, now River Chenab was in low-level flood on Tuesday, but the situation was under control. In August 2008, India had stopped water in River Chenab towards Pakistan. Sialkot district administration has already divided Sialkot District into 17 sectors and 34 sub-sectors to avert the recurring flood threats, besides, establishing 34 flood relief camps. All the respective departments have already been put on high alert and they were monitoring the flood situation round the clock, they added.
