RAWALPINDI – Town Officer (Regulation) and Special Price Magistrate Tauseef Ahmed Malik on Friday visited different markets of the city and imposed fine amounting to Rs 75,000 on 50 shopkeepers for selling the commodities in violation of approved rate lists.

He also registered cases against five shopkeepers over severe violation of the prescribed rates for different edible items. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate of the Rawal Town Municipal Administration confiscated two-truck load goods from Raja Bazar, Liaquat Road, Jamia Masjid Road and Commercial Market in a special campaign launched against encroachments.

Taking serious notice of the increasing encroachments in busy markets, Town Administrator, Saif Anwar Jappa directed the Town Officer to visit markets on daily basis and submit performance report of inspectors performing duties in different localities.

He warned that strict action would be taken against those officials who found involved in encouraging encroachments and creating nuisance for public.
