ISLAMABAD - The Cabinet Committee on Energy (CCE) which met here Friday discussed host of issues including fuel supply to power plants, recovery status and financial situation of the power sector and steps to maintain and improve the current power generation.Power generation by oil, gas and hydel also came under discussion, besides plan for electricity generation in next week was also reviewed.The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Water and Power Ch Ahmed Mukhtar, Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Petroleum Minister Dr Asim Hussain, Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, Secretary Water and Power Zafar Mehmood and Secretary Petroleum Dr Waqar Masood.The meeting also discussed various other steps to improve and maintain the power generation in order to minimise the demand-supply gap. It was decided that the government will take all possible measures to further enhance the power generation.Earlier, a detailed briefing was given by the Ministry of Water and Power to the members of the committee on electricity generation, demand and supply and load management schedule for urban and rural areas. The committee was also informed that there was no unscheduled loadshedding in the country.
