QUETTA - Unidentified armed men attacked a police picket in Panjgour, a town near Iran border, on Friday while a policeman was killed in a firing incident in Dalbandin town of Chagai district.According to police sources, a group of armed men attacked a police picket located near seasonal Rakshan nullah of Panjgour and made hostage two policemen at gun-point.“Militants snatched two Kalashnikovs from policemen alongwith 150 rounds and fled from the scene towards undisclosed location,” they added. A large number of police and other law-enforcement agencies rushed to the site after getting information about the incident and started a search action in the area to trace out the attackers. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack till filing of this report. However, Baloch armed groups are believed to be behind the attack on police picket as previously such attacks on the check posts of law-enforcement agencies had occurred in different districts of Balochistan, including Panjgour.  *In another incident, a policeman was killed in Dalbandin town of Chagai district. Sources said that unidentified assailants opened fire on a policeman identified as Mustafa in Faisal colony in Dalbandin.Resultantly, he received serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Doctors after providing him first medical aid referred him to Quetta.However, he succumbed to his injuries and died on the way to Quetta. Police said investigations were underway to unearth motive behind the killing. *Police have registered a case against unknown people and further investigations were underway.
