LAHORE – The Government College University (GCU) Lahore is planning to launch two-year MSc in Physical Education from this year and necessary arrangements are being made for initiating the programme under directions from Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khaleeq-ur-Rahman.

The curriculum for the postgraduate programme includes modern courses of Sports Management, Sports Nutrition, Computer Application in Sports, Theory of Games, Talent Development, Practical Games and Athletics, Scientific Coaching, Human Anatomy, Sports Research Methodology, Planning, Physical Education for Special Persons, Sports Bio-Mechanics, Exercise Psychology, Exercise Psychology, Practical Gymnastics, Role of Media in Sports, Leadership in Sports, Trauma and Rehabilitation, and Evaluation.

The admissions in the MSc in Physical Education are likely to start next month. Graduation is the minimum qualification for the admission. GCU would also conduct physical fitness and skill test of the candidates.

ADMISSION SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has announced the schedule for admission in first year class of its two Model Higher Secondary Schools for Boys, situated in Jahanzeb Block Allama Iqbal Town and H Block Sabazar, Lahore.

Prospectus and admission forms will be available at the principals’ offices of these institutions from July 30 from 8:00am to 12:00 noon. Completed applications, along with attested copies of testimonials, will be received until August 18.

Scrutiny of documents and interviews of candidates will commence from August 27.

Candidates are asked to submit two attested copies of matriculation result card, three fresh passport size photographs, a copy of the character certificate and two copies of CNIC of father/ guardian covered in a file cover. Candidates passing secondary school exam from other boards will also have to furnish an NOC.
