KARACHI - The workers of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen staged a demonstration on Friday to protest against the massacre of Myanmar’s Muslims by Buddhist fanatics and Myanmar government. The protest demonstration was held after Friday prayers. A large number of protestors shouted slogans to express solidarity with the Muslims of Myanmar. Maulana Baqir Zaidi, Maulana Ali Anwar Jafri, Asghar Zaidi and Muhammad Mehdi addressed the protestors.They said that on one hand, Western governments call them champions of human rights but are silent over the Muslims issue. They said heads of Islamic states and religious and political parties are also not voicing their protest against Myanmar government’s atrocities.They recalled that Grand Ayatollah Imam Ali Khamenei and Iranian nation have come out to voice their all out support to the oppressed Muslims of Myanmar. They urged Muslims to emulate them and break their silence. They said that on one hand enemies of Islam are busy in weakening Islamic resistance through terrorism in Syria and on the other, Myanmar’s Muslims have been left defenceless.The MWM leaders condemned the inaction by United Nations, OIC and human rights organisations. They demanded the United Nations Secretary General to intervene in Myanmar’s affairs to stop Muslims genocide there. They demanded that peace missions be deployed there. They also urged Muslim governments to rescind their policy of toeing the line of the United States in the region. They urged them to join hands with each other and listen to the genuine complaints and grievances of Muslims.
