HAFIZABAD - DCO Muhammad Asif has declared that serving ailing humanity is not less than worship and appealed to the well-to-do people to come forward and donate generously to make the crusade against TB a success.

Addressing the annual meeting of the Anti-TB Association Hafizabad, he said that TB was a great challenge and during this scientific age TB was curable disease and we all should contribute to meet the challenge. He lauded the efforts of the Association in this respect.

Earlier, Dr Muhammad Yaseen, President District TB Association, enumerated various achievements of the Association since 1981 and told his audience that the Association had set up a clinic and then a full-fledge Hospital from where thousands of patients have been treated and created purely on self-help-basis.

He said during 2011-12 financial year, 193 patients including 105 women and ten children were treated and completely cured in the TB hospital.

He further said at present 551patients including 254 women and 47 children are being treated.

He said that all patients are being provided facility of free Lab Test, X-Ray and disclosed that medicines etc. worth Rs30,39,025 were provided to the patients free of cost.

He said that TB is curable disease and urged him audience to create awareness among the public about the menace and cooperate with the association to eliminate this fatal disease from the district.
