KARACHI  – Dispelling impression of the alliance between Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid, PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi Friday stated that Nawaz and his party would ‘get surprises in Sindh’. Addressing the media after a meeting between PML-Q leaders and Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Pervaiz claimed that the PML-N was going to Sindh and had, to an extent, broken down the local leadership.Pervaiz reiterated that both the parties remained united in Sindh, adding that talks for seat readjustments were underway.Qaim, answering queries on whether the alliance faced any danger in the form of PML-N or not, said, “We do not overestimate ourselves but we do not underestimate ourselves either.”He added that the politics of the party and the leadership were the reason why Nawaz Sharif went to places in Sindh where one “needs not to go”.“Nawaz approached non-entity people and those who criticised him a lot, the nationalists, asking them to join him,” he said, adding that these people had never even won a single seat. “He is trying but he still does not have a seat, even in the assembly, and none of our party members have joined him,” said the Sindh chief minister.Qaim said that Nawaz was approaching people “who had left his party earlier, who have cases registered against them and those who always have differences with us since the beginning like Mumtaz Bhutto”. On PML-N making alliances with nationalists, the chief minister said that some of them totally disagree with the constitution and these were the people, Nawaz Sharif was inducting in his party.Refusing to comment on PPP’s cases in the courts, he said that it was a matter of the federal government and since these matters were sub-judice, they should not be discussed.Shah said that talks with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were underway and progress had been made on issues that were not being sorted out earlier. “We hope to reach an understanding soon,” he said.Answering questions related to local bodies elections, Qaim said after general elections, which would take place in seven to eight months, the elected governments would hold local body elections as per the constitution.PPP TO EMERGE VICTORIOUS IN NEXT POLLS: The Pakistan People’s Party will emerge victorious in the next general election on the basis of the strength of by the masses.He said here on Thursday that in the bye-election in Multan the PPP candidate attained victory inspite the fact that the opposition parties had joined hands. Sharjeel was critical of the policies of the Pakistan Muslim league- Nawaz (PML-N).He maintained that the ‘political tactics’ of Mian Nawaz Sharif reflect what was termed as his ‘negative thinking’.Sharjeel alleged that the PML-N has always conspired against the PPP. He further maintained that now ‘Mian Nawaz Sharif has been exposed’.
