LAHORE – Drug Court Chairman on Friday awarded seven-year jail term to one Riasat Ali on the charges of running a medical store without licence. The court also imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on the convict.

As per case details, a team of the health department raided Punjab Medical Store located in Qasurpura and asked Riasat, the owner of the store, to show the government license for selling drugs. However, Riasat failed to show the license.

On this, the drug inspector sealed the said store and arrested Riasat. On Friday, the Drug Court chairman, after hearing the final arguments of both the parties, convicted Riasat after he was proved guilty of running the medical store without permit.
