PESHAWAR - The Counter Terrorism Police in a crackdown on Friday arrested a persons allegedly involved in facilitating the suicide attack on Awami National Party (ANP) Leader Bashir Ahmad Bilour.

Source said that the arrested person has been identified as Fazal Muhammad and was involved in the alleged facilitating the suicide attacker to kill the ANP leader in 2012. The accused revealed that the name of the suicide attacker was Farooq whereas he kept him in his house for two days and took him to the specified place on the third day. Furthermore, the interrogation with the suspect is still underway.

Bashir Ahmad Bilour was assassinated in a suicide attack in the Dhaki Naalbandi locality in the historic Qissa Khwani Bazaar on December 22, 2012.

Eight other people, including Station House Officer (SHO) of the Khan Raziq Police Station, Abdul Sattar Khattak, and Noor Muhammad, personal assistant of Bashir Bilour, were also killed in the suicide bombing. The banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had accepted the responsibility for the attack.
