Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said that the groundbreaking of Kartarpur corridor is a monumental event which will open many opportunities for both Pakistan and India.

While talking to the media persons in Islamabad before leaving for Kartarpur, Dr Faisal said that this was the initiative of Prime Minister Imran Khan which was widely appreciated including the people in India.

He added, the corridor will facilitate the Sikh pilgrims to visit their holiest sites in Pakistan.

Further, he told that the construction of the corridor will stand completed before the next birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak in November.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will perform the groundbreaking of the corridor connecting Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur area of Narowal district with Dera Baba Nanak in India's Gurdaspur District today.
