LAHORE - Newly-appointed coach of Pakistan cricket team Intikhab Alam has said that his first priority will be to maintain discipline in the team. Talking to media at Gaddafi Stadium here on Monday, Alam said discipline was the main issue plaguing Pakistan cricket. He said Shoaib Akhtar could still serve the country for sometime and Mohammad Asif perhaps does not know his own talents. He said selection always plays a key role in the team's performance and a team should be selected with the consultation of both captain and the coach. Alam further said that training camp for West Indies series could be arranged at Karachi but he did not seem hopeful for the series saying the WICB had made unreasonable demand for money. He said both batsmen and the bowlers should set targets for themselves, and then should try to achieve them.
