LAHORE - The business activity at Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) remained at a limited level and investors preferred to sit aside while benchmark 100-index remained unchanged and closed at 9,182.88 points on the first day of business week. Only 24 companies traded in the bourse in which two got advance whereas five companies dipped while rest of the 17 companies remained unchanged. The LSE-25 closed at 2824.86 points while ISE-10 closed at 1687.25 points losing 8.18 points. Today KSE-100 market opened with limited business activities and investors preferred to sit idle and wait for the government initiatives to pump into liquidity into market. This dull activity prevailed at the market all along the day. The turnover at the local bourse stood at 249,500 and the highest trading today was seen in the scrips of Al-Abbas Cement with a volume of 150,000 shares whose share remained unchanged at Rs 6.55 followed by Trust Modaraba whose volume remained 26,000 closed at Re 1.35 with no change. Gharibwal Cement, however, gained Re 0.75 closed at 17.98 with volume of 16,000 shares. Highnoon also remained unchanged with volume 10,100 shares closed at Rs 39.20. National Assets dipped to Re 0.02 closed at Re 0.43 with volume of 10,000. Cherat Cement and Standard Char. Mod remained unchanged with volumes 9,500 and 4,000 closed at Rs 15.90 and Rs 10.20 respectively. While Sitara Energy and Shifa International dipped down to Re 0.93 and Re 0.53 closed at Rs 18.25 and Rs 20.05 with volume of 7,500 and 3,000. Service Indus, Southern Electric and Ferozeson (Lab)remained unchanged with volumes of 2,000, 2,000 and 1,700 shares closed at Rs 78.70, Rs 3.60 and Rs 235.00 respectively. Whereas First Fid Leasing gained Re 0.05 closed at Rs 4.20 with volume of 1,000 shares. English Leas. remained unchanged closed at Rs 4.25 while Saritow Sp. Dipped down to Re 0.20 closed at Re 1.80 with volumes of 1,000 each. Gatron Industry, Oil and Gas Dev, PIAC and Meezan Bal.Fund remained unchanged closed at Rs 44.10, Rs 94.43, Rs 4.20 and Rs 5.90 with volumes 900, 600, 500 and 500 respectively. Punjab Mod. also shed Re 0.30 closed at Rs 5.70 with volume of 500 shares. Rest of the companies remained unchanged with volume less than 500 shares. Experts are of the opinion that Karachi Stock market would remain dull and there would be restricted activities in the market in the coming days unless government do not pour liquidity in the markets. Meanwhile, the KSE-30 index also remained unchanged and closed at at 10,003.99 points and KMI-30 index also with no change closed at 11224.18 points. Meanwhile, share prices at the ISE dipped down to 8.18 points where the ISE-10 index close at 1687.25. Sepco was the volume leader whose 1,000 shares were exchanged with no change closed at Rs 3.50. While, Lahore Stock gained 0.26 points where as LSE-25 index closed at 2824.86 points. Total turn over however witnessed decreasing trend as it remained 5,000 shares wherein two companies dipped down while 81 scrips remained unchanged.
