LAHORE - Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said that an annual grant of Rs50 million would be allocated for the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) in the provincial budget. President PHF Qasim Zia and secretary Asif Bajwa met the chief minister at the Chief Minister House and briefed him about the issues being faced by the national game. Later, the CM also promised to give hockey stadiums of Lahore and Faisalabad on lease to the PHF. Qasim Zia told that the PHF had sought financial assistance from the govt and had requested the Punjab govt to hand over the hockey stadiums of Lahore and Faisalabad to the PHF. The chief minister promised that Rs50 million would be allocated for the PHF in the provincial budget and that a fund of Rs30 million would be given to the federation in the current year. Zia further said that the chief minister asked the concerned department to provide a detailed report on the hockey stadiums of Lahore and Faisalabad.
