US pop star Beyonce Knowles will perform at the annual MTV Video Music Awards, which is being held next month in New York. The 27-year-old is up for nine awards at the ceremony - including video of the year - and will perform her latest hit single Sweet Dreams. Beyonces husband Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Green Day, Pink and Muse have also been lined up to perform. Last years host, comedian Russell Brand, is back for a second time. However, MTV have asked him back and he has already recorded an online trailer with Britney Spears publicising the show, which is being held at New Yorks Radio City Music Hall on 13 September.
