Supreme Judicial Council meeting today to look into the complaints of corruption against two judges of Sindh and Lahore high courts. Supreme Judicial Council with Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry in chair had issued notices to justice Abdul Shakoor Piracha of Lahore High Court (LHC) and justice Muhammad Afzal Soomro of Sindh High Court in its August 9th meeting on the charges of misconduct and corruption. The SJC had also instituted inquiry committee comprising justice Sardar Raza Khan and justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif to probe into the charges. The committee was inquiring into the charges against the two judges since August 17. Supreme Courts judge Justice Javed Iqbal, Justice Sardar Mohammad Raza Khan, Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court Justice Tariq Pervez Khan, Chief Justice of Lahore High Court Justice Khuwaja Mohammad Sharif and Secretary of Supreme Judicial Council Dr. Faqeer Hussain will attend the meeting.
