KARACHI - Bomb Disposal Squad of the Sindh Police has foiled a major terror bid by defusing an improvised explosive device (IED), planted in Wednesday Bazaar, Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

A shopkeeper spotted the bomb and informed the police on Helpline 15. Law enforcers reached the site and evacuated the bazaar. BDS experts were called and they defused the bomb after hectic efforts. 

The BDS officials said the bomb weighed around one kilogramme which was concealed in a box, adding that a timer device was attached with the bomb. Police added that it seems that the terrorists wanted to create harassment by targeting the public. Nothing could be said about the group behind planting the bomb, however, further investigation was underway.
