ISLAMABAD - A musical evening was arranged here on Tuesday featuring the enchanting performance of classical dance by Nighat Chaudry, a name that is indelibly linked with Katthak dance in Pakistan and the world over.

The select audience was mesmerized by the Khattak dance performer at the event which was organized by the Islamabad Marriott Hotel in collaboration with the Bloomfield School Islamabad.

Various countries ambassadors, diplomats and other prominent guests including CEOs of major industries of Pakistan were present on the occaison. The evening also featured Tahir Khan, a classical singer, who sang light ghazals and songs during the second half of the event.

The evening formally commenced with the welcoming speech of GM of the hotel, Jan Verduyn. He also highlighted the forthcoming events at the hotel. In her remarks, Director Bloomfield School System Shazia Ismat shared BSS's achievements with the audience. The performance opened with Nighat Chaudry explaining the origin and evolution of the classical Kathak dance and how she fuses a spiritual Sufi essence in her performance.
