Police arrested the sister of an accused and allegedly tortured her.

Naveed, a resident of Chak 114-P had quarrelled with some villagers on a personal dispute. A jury was nominated to settle the dispute but the opponents of Naveed approached the police of Airport police station. The police raided the house of accused on the nominal allegations. Police did not found the accused and arrested his 18-year-old sister Nazia Ashraf.

The police took her at an unknown place and badly tortured and asked her parents that she will be released when they will hand over her brother Naveed. The heirs and relatives of Nazia protested against the police torture at DCO Office Chowk.

Later, the police released Nazia who was shifted to Sheikh Zayed Medical College Hospital in critical condition.


District Police Officer Dr Shahzad Asif has suspended the Rajana Police SHO on the charge of not obeying Lahore High Court order to produce accused Muhammad Arif, a resident of Sahiwal involved in a dacoity before the court.

The Additional Police Inspector General had inquired on LHC direction against SHO Zafar Iqbal and it was proved that he did not comply with the LHC orders.

Meanwhile DPO directed Sadar Circle DSP Rao Muhammad Asif to trace the dacoity accused and to produce him before LHC after arresting him on next hearing on August 29 (today).

ROBBERIES: The robbers looted hundreds of thousands of rupees and gold ornaments in four strikes here the other day.

As per detail, three dacoits entered the house of Muhammad Ameen in Iqbal Town Pattoki and looted Rs125,000 and gold ornaments.

In a other incident, the dacoits snatched Rs.400,00 from a mill owner namely Shabbir Ahmad in Pattoki. Two bandits snatched a motorcycle and cash from a man.

In another incident, dacoits set up a picket on Kot Radha Kishan Road and looted valuables from different passengers.
