ISLAMABAD – Pakistan is facing numerous challenges on various fronts and every Pakistani including minorities should join hands to carry on the agenda of national mobilisation and make it as a state according to the vision of its founder Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

These were the unanimous view of participants in Christmas programme organised by All Pakistan Christian League (APCL) USA Chapter. Dr Tanveer Zamani, a US-based surgeon and PhD in international politics was the chief guest on the occasion. She is known as an innovative Muslim democrat in the US and Pakistan People’s Party’s very endearing activist.

While addressing the Christian community, Dr Zamani said Islam gives respect to other religions and its followers. “As a nation, we mustjoin hands and perform  ‘Ijtehad’ to carry out national mobilisation and design the social structure of Quaid-e-Azam ‘s Pakistan,” she maintained.

She also stressed for special measures to stop incidents like Shanti Nagar, Gojra and Mardan in future. She said all Religious communities living in Pakistan are equal and minorities have very crucial role in the socio-economic development of the country. Dr Zamani also urged for unity among the Pakistani nation as a whole to eliminate sectarianism, feudalism and other challenges form the country. She also demanded that Election Commission of Pakistan should take further practical steps for proper representation of minorities in present electoral system.

APCL President USA Chapter, Hubert George thanked Dr Zamani for raising a voice for minorities of Pakistan. He assured her complete support of APCL in future.
