LAHORE - Lahore-based students in fourth and final semester of Allama Iqbal Open University’s MSc Pakistan Studies programme may lose an academic year allegedly due to a tutor who failed to submit result of third semester.

The candidates have blamed that the regional campus of Allama Iqbal Open University Lahore hired the services of different tutors for marking of “Study Assignments” submitted by the students (compulsory for each subject of each semester).

However by violating the appointment criteria as well as procedure, the AIOU authorities under the influence of District Officer Coordination Sundas Irshad, allegedly appointed his father Mr Irshadul Haq who is not a teacher by profession – instead a retired bureaucrat - for the Course Code 4668 MSc Pakistan Studies for fourth and final semester during the spring 2015.

The tutor was duty bound to submit award sheets of the course carrying the results/marks of the assignments of Lahore Division based students, both male and female, till the first week of September 2015, but he has been failed to do so.

The students and their guardians contacted several times to the tutor and regional campus, but all in vain.

According to the university rules, the final result is coupled with assignment marks but in the above scenario the student may face loss of one year due to non-submission of assignment marks by the tutor appointed by the varsity.

The students have demanded from the Vice Chancellor AIOU as well as the Chairman Department of Pak Studies their indulgence to save the students’ year.

RESULTS: Punjab University Examinations Department has declared the results of Doctor of Pharmacy Final Professional, annual examination 2015. Detailed results are also available at PU website www.pu.edu.pk.
