LAHORE - Punjab Emergency Service (PES) provided services to victims of 638 road accidents in Punjab during last 24 hours.

According to Rescue 1122, eight people were killed while 533 sustained serious injuries in these accidents. However, 261 drivers, 34 juvenile drivers, 130 pedestrians and 399 passengers were among the victims of these crashes.

The statistics showed that 143 accidents were reported in city which affected 150 persons placing the provincial capital at top of the list followed by 48 accidents in Faisalabad with 55 victims and Gujranwala remained at third with 43 accidents and 40 victims.

As many as, 518 motorcycles, 96 rickshaws, 88 cars, 29 vans, 14 buses, 11 trucks and 71 other vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in the accidents.
